Settings & preferences

Thrift keeps configuration out of the way — most of the app is just your ledger. When you do need a setting, it’s under the More tab, organized into Settings, Data, and Support.

App lock

Turn on Face ID or Touch ID so a glance opens Thrift and nothing else does — the quickest, strongest layer on top of the on-device encryption. More in Privacy & security.

Base currency

Set the base currency everything rolls up into. If your life touches more than one currency, this is the one all your totals are expressed in — details in Multiple currencies.

Demo mode

Want to explore without touching your own data? Demo mode loads a full set of sample data in a separate database, so you can poke at every screen freely. Your real ledger stays untouched and is waiting when you switch back.

Data and support

The Data section holds the tools that move your book around — backup & restore, import & export, merchant rules, and Trash & the audit log. Support is where the open-source licenses, a way to rate the app, and how to reach us live.
