Privacy Policy

Last updated July 16, 2026

Thrift, a product of W3 Eden, Inc. (“we” or “us”), is built privacy-first. By default, your financial data lives only on your device, with no accounts and nothing to sign up for.

What we collect

Thrift collects nothing about you — no analytics, no ads, no third-party trackers, and nothing sent to us. Every transaction, budget, goal, and investment you enter is stored locally on your phone. The only data that ever leaves your device comes from optional features you turn on yourself, described under “What we share.”

How your data is stored

Your financial records — every transaction, account, budget, goal, and investment — are encrypted at rest with SQLCipher, its key held in your device’s secure hardware (Keychain on iOS, Keystore on Android). App settings live in the device’s standard protected storage. An optional biometric lock adds a second gate on top.

What we share

By default, nothing — your ledger never reaches us. The exceptions are all optional and under your control:

Brokerage sync. If you link a brokerage or exchange to auto-sync portfolio value, that connection fetches data directly to your device. Your credentials and balances are never sent to Thrift.

AI receipt / voice parsing. If you turn on the optional AI parsing of a receipt or voice note, that one item is sent to the AI provider you choose, using a key you supply, so it can be read into an entry. This feature is off unless you enable it.

Subscriptions. If you subscribe to Thrift Gold, the App Store processes the purchase. It sees the transaction, not your financial data.

Exchange rates

If you use more than one currency, Thrift fetches public exchange-rate data to convert amounts. These requests contain only currency codes and dates — never your amounts or any personal information.

Backups and exports

Any backup or export file you create belongs to you. It only leaves the app when you explicitly share or save it somewhere, and a backup is encrypted with a password only you know.

Deleting your data

Because everything is local, uninstalling Thrift removes all of it. There is no server copy for us to delete, because we never had one.

Children

Thrift is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone — because we do not collect information at all.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
